All possible assistance should be provided to prevent locust attacks, Army Chief
RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that full cooperation should be extended to the civil administration to deal with the threat of locusts.
On Thursday, the Army Chief visited the National Locust Control Center (NLCC), according to details released by the Pakistan Army Public Relations Department. On this occasion, the NLCC Chief was briefed by the Coordinator Lieutenant General Moazzam Ijaz on the details of the measures taken to control the locust attacks.
The Army Chief appreciated the NLCC’s concerted efforts in the National Action Plan to control the NLCC’s locusts and directed the Civil Administration to extend all possible cooperation in this regard.
He said that locust control operations are of utmost importance for food security and prevention of adverse environmental impacts. The government has already declared a national emergency.
