Date for Filing Tax Returns Extended by FBR to October 31

The deadline for filing income tax returns for the tax year 2022 has been extended by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) until October 31, 2022.

Given the current flood situation in the nation and requests from various trade bodies and Tax Bar Associations, the FBR is pleased to announce that the date of filing of Income Tax Return for the tax year 2022, which was required to be filed by September 30th, 2022, is extended up to October 31, 2022, according to Circular Number 16 of 2022, issued by the FBR late Friday night.

Ishaq Dar, the finance minister, made the announcement during a news conference. He extended the deadline for filing income tax returns till October 31.

Nearly all business groups, trade organisations, chambers, and associations had contacted the FBR to request an extension for at least one month in the filing of tax returns.
