The Graduate Law Admissions Test ( HEC LAW GAT) has been rescheduled for the year 2022 by HEC. The date of the LAW GAT exam that has been planned for the 23rd of October in 2022. In order to become registered with the Bar Council, all LLB graduates are required to first complete the Law Graduate Assessment Test. The application deadline for the LAW-GAT 2022 is October 3, 2022, and it must be submitted online using the HEC site.
Candidates who have earned a Bachelor of Laws degree or its equivalent from an institution that is recognised by HEC/PBC are eligible to register online using the website http://etc.hec.gov.pk. On the website of the HEC, applications may be filed electronically. The HEC Law GAT is a prerequisite for practising law and must be completed by all LLB graduates before joining the legal profession.
HEC Law GAT 2022 Registration
The examination will be comprised of questions with multiple choice answers (MCOs). Applicants who enrolled using the HEC online registration procedure will be able to get their Roll Number Slip from http://etc.hec.gov.pk one week prior to the scheduled date of the examination. Applicants who have already enrolled will get information through email and text message on the exam date, time, and location. When filling out the online application form, prospective employees are obligated to give a working email address and cell phone number. To get access to the testing facility, you will need to provide both the original CNIC as well as a printout of your Roll Number Slip. The application deadline for the HEC Law GAT 2022 has been extended until October 3, 2022.
Eligibility Criteria for HEC Law GAT 2022
- Persons having passed Bachelor’s degree in Law from a university recognized by HEC and PBC are eligible to apply.

The Test will be conducted in the following Centers:
- Islamabad
- Lahore
- Karachi
- Sukkur
- Abbottabad
- Quetta
- Multan
- Hyderabad
- Turbat
- Bahawalpur
- Peshawar
- Muzaffarabad
- Faisalabad
- Gilgit
Applicants may select any test Centre from the list available in the application form.
Test will only be held on any of the above Centers if a minimum of 100 applicants will select that Centre.
Test Centre once selected will not be changed after registration.

- Application submission comprises two steps: profile completion using the “My Profile” section, and application submission using “Law GAT Test” link on the menu panel in the left-hand sidebar of the online portal.
- Only SUBMITTED applications will be considered for LAW-GAT Test and applications in SAVE or
- The INCOMPLETE mode will not be entertained.
- A test fee of Rs. 3000/- is to be deposited Online/ATM in Account No. O 1127900567403

- Applicants are required to upload paid and scanned challan form duly stamped by any HBL Branch while completing the application form at the ETC online registration portal to submit the application.

Other Requirements/Conditions
- A 50% score is required to pass the Law Graduate Assessment Test (Law-GAT).
- Applicants will have to meet other criteria, if any, as per the Rules and Regulations of PBC.
- Applicants will have a maximum of three chances to clear the Law-GAT test. HEC will conduct the test thrice a year.
