Thyroid hormone can also increase body weight because your metabolism slows down due to hormone deficiency. The thyroid gland in our body produces hormones. Apart from this, the thyroid gland also works to control metabolism, sleep, heart rate of our body. Sometimes the thyroid does not produce the correct amount of these hormones and can cause hypothyroidism. Hypothyroid is associated with constipation, fatigue, depression, and other symptoms.

2. Cortisol

Cortisol is a steroid hormone that effects when we are in stress, depression. Due to an increase in its level, one feels hungry again and eat more food, due to which weight can be increased. You cannot completely eliminate stress, but it can be controlled through yoga, meditation and exercise.

3. Insulin

Insulin is associated with diabetes. Insulin helps to carry glucose in your body cells which is used as energy. If the level of insulin in the blood starts increasing, then the problem of weight gain and type 2 diabetes can occur. To control this, avoid eating sugar, alcohol and unhealthy things.

4. Estrogen

It is very important to keep estrogen under control in the body, because if the level of estrogen in your body is too high or too low, it also causes weight gain. High levels of estrogen in the body can affect the insulin producing cells in your body, which increases your insulin resistance and blood sugar levels and can also cause weight gain.

5. Progesterone

 Progesterone is the main hormone in our body. For the body to function properly, the balance of progesterone and estrogen must be correct. Progesterone levels may decline due to menopause, stress, the use of antibiotics or unhealthy food. In such a situation, not only can you gain weight, but you can be a victim of depression.
