Because of its widespread appeal, podcasting is one of the world’s fastest-growing sectors. Podcasting is rising by leaps and bounds statistically because it is the most personal way to access material.

In terms of finances, 51% of monthly participating podcast listeners in the United States have an annual household income of at least $75,000, compared to 38% of the general population.
Since this is a growing content channel, you have a fantastic chance to reach out to your target audience in one of the most successful ways.

This Podcasting ultimate tutorial will assist you in quickly launching your podcast. If you’ve been sitting on the fence, wondering if you should start a podcast and how you should go about it, this guide will address all of your questions.
I’ve included everything you’ll need to get started with a podcast. So, make yourself a cup of coffee, bookmark this page, and get started.

The Steps to Launching a Podcast:

These are the steps involved in beginning a podcast for the first time. I’ve included all of the tools you’ll need below to get it done quickly. It is preferable if you take one week to put all of the simple items mentioned below in order before launching your podcast.

Here are the keys to launching a podcast.

  • Work on the podcast’s branding and niche.
  • Develop a podcast cover graphic.
  • Get music for the podcast’s intro and outro.
  • Purchase podcasting tools.
  • Make an atmosphere and a process.
  • Create the first podcast.
  • Obtain Podcast Hosting
  • Create and upload the first podcast.
  • Publish the podcast on iTunes, Google Podcasts, and other sites.
  • Publicize Your Podcast
  • The most critical lesson to master before beginning a podcast
  • Before we get started, let’s go over why you’re starting a podcast in the first place.

Since podcasting is a rapidly growing content medium, it is less sophisticated than blogging or video-blogging and focuses entirely on the information that you want to share with the world. Since there aren’t many people doing it around you, this is an excellent chance for you to be the first to get started.

If you enjoy using statistics to make decisions, the following map explicitly illustrates the rapid rise of podcasting audiences. Since it is already sponsored by high-income consumers, you have a fantastic chance to capitalise on right now.

Consumers are more likely to act on the advice because it is an on-demand consumption media. Podcast marketing is becoming successful for many brands, whether it is advertising your own product, service, or some other alternative.

If there is one message you should bear in mind when making podcast material, it is:

Instruct, Educate, and Entertain

Be a strong instructor and entertainer when sharing your hard-earned experience. Keep your audience’s interests in mind when you film, and you’ll produce only high-quality material. Another factor that has really served well for the bulk of podcasters is to entertain. Render learning interesting, and your podcast show will be the talk of the town.

And now it’s time to begin…

What you’ll need to launch a podcast:
Let’s start with the fundamentals. Before you start recording your podcast, make sure you have the following items:

What should the name of your podcast be?

You may use one of three simple podcast naming conventions:

Personal identifier: The Harsh Agrawal Show, for example, or the #AskHarsh Show
Raabta is a catchy term.
The Fashionista Show| The Content Marketing Show is a descriptive term.
A good way to think of the podcast’s name is as follows:

Name of the podcast | Tagline

Raabta Podcast, for example, is a place where digital markers congregate.

When you plan to host your own show and create a personal identity, a personal name is perfect.
Name that reflects your creativity: If you are a creative person, let your name reflect that.
Descriptive name: When targeting a market or segment, this will give you a major advantage.
Visit the top podcast charts for new podcast name ideas. Here’s one thing you should try after you’ve decided on a name for your podcast.

Ask your peers and business partners for support.

Oh, I’m making a podcast of “

You can reach out to at least 5 people in order for this survey to be successful.

Subtitles with podcasts (Benefit ex: grow your online business)
Your subtitle, including the show name, will help listeners understand who the podcast is about and why they should listen to it. Planning ahead of time will also assist you in narrowing your niche and selecting 1-2 strong ideas from a plethora of ideas in your mind.

Get the podcast’s cover art (Design)

The architecture of your podcast is critical to its success. Creating a branding guide would assist you in the long run in establishing a clear name.

When you first start your podcast, you will need graphics for the following:

Cover art for the channel Episode
Your podcast host would require you to upload a channel art if you upload a new podcast show.

What you can do is as follows:

Choose a colour scheme for your channel: You should choose the appropriate colour based on the crowd you’re aiming at. Read this colour psychology guide to figure out which colour is right for the target audience.
Here are the cover art specifications from iTunes:

Artwork must be a minimum of 1400 x 1400 pixels in size and a maximum of 3000 x 3000 pixels in size, 72 dpi, in JPEG or PNG format with acceptable file extensions (.jpg,.png), and in RGB colorspace.
Both podcast episodes, XML, and artwork are maintained on publicly available repositories that accept byte-range requests. (This is normally handled by the hosting company.)
Ana has created a brilliant guide on how to make Podcast cover art.

Create intro/outro music: Adding an intro and outro music to your podcast adds an aspect. This would be an important feature of your podcast presentation. Previously, I used a service like Fiverr to get a podcast intro/outro for my broadcast. It cost me only $15, and it was well worth it as a one-time purchase.

Podcasting hardware and software

At this point, it is crucial that you choose some of the best podcasting equipment and apps. You will need the following items:

  • A tranquil setting
  • A decent microphone
  • Tools for solo recording and editing
  • Recording programme for celebrity interviews
  • Podcast host Podcasting microphone:

When it comes to microphones, the Blue Yeti is the most common alternative among podcasters. Yeti’s directionality function allows you to configure it for a variety of recording scenarios, such as recording alone, recording with a guest, or recording in a community.

Podcast recording apps

There are several software and resources that you can use to begin recording your podcast after plugging in your microphone. Here are some of the best and most widely used tech programmes:

Auphonic is a handheld audio recorder and editor. It also allows you to quantify the noise in the room, which is useful for making adjustments to your recording setup if appropriate. If the recording is complete, you can automatically send it to the Auphonic server for post-processing.

The app is available for both Android and iOS.

Camtasia

Camtasia is a common screencasting tool that can also be used to capture audio. In reality, you’d be shocked at how simple it is to record audio with Camtasia. The app is paying and available on both Windows and Mac. To list a few features, the app includes noise cancellation, simple editing, and voice levelling.

Garageband

Garageband is a free iOS app that can be used as a DAW on Mac, iPhone, and iPad (digital audio workstation). The app is simple to use, and you can quickly edit your audio files and add an intro/outro, sound effects, and do a variety of other things to make an excellent podcast presentation.

Podcast hosting

Once you’ve uploaded your podcast, you’ll need to upload it to a podcast hosting site. This podcast hosting services will provide you with an optimised RSS URL, allowing you to upload your podcast on iTunes, Google Podcasts, Sticher, and other podcast platforms.

There are various free and paying podcast hosting services available. Here are a few of my personal favourites:

BuzzSprout

Ideal for both young and veteran podcasters. They have a free and paying package that is ideal for someone who is just starting out or podcasting for a living. They also have a WordPress plugin and several beginner’s guides to help you launch and expand your podcast.

Other alternatives include:

Anchor for Podbean
Soundcloud Audioboom

Before you start your first podcast, make the following preparations:
You should now have all of the necessary equipment and resources for recording and releasing your podcast. Before you begin recording your first podcast, you can do a few things.

Topic recommendations: You should have at least 6-10 podcast topic suggestions ready. At the time of delivery, you should have at least three podcast shows ready for continuous publication. To keep track of your subject suggestions, you can use Google Sheets or Trello.

Letter of welcome: The welcoming message will be a promotional pitch about who you are and why you matter.

For each subject, construct a script and an outline:

You should have the following materials ready for each topic:

The subject

A synopsis of the episode
The episode’s biggest takeaway
This is normally stored in a Google doc. The preparation at this point would mean that you can get into a flow condition when it is time to film the performance.

Make the first podcast and edit it.

It is now time for you to record your first podcast episode. Normally, I will record 3-4 podcasts in a single sitting. Many people choose to record just one podcast a day, which is good as long as you adhere to your podcast publishing schedule.

The recording of the first few podcasts is typically time-consuming, so it gets simpler after that. Nothing beats it if you can edit it yourself. However, if you, like me, assume that time is money, you can recruit a Fiverr freelancer or a virtual assistant to edit the podcast for you.

This is the format I use when editing podcasts:

Teaser + Intro + Meat + Ad + Meat + CTA + Meat + Subscription/review reminder + Outro

What happens after the film is completed?
I’m happy you asked, since this is a vital aspect for your podcast to hit the right ears.

The first few things you can do are: (This is a one-time thing)

Upload your podcast to your podcast host, complete with show notes and any additional material.

Send your podcast to iTunes.
Google Podcasts is a great place to start if you want to start a podcast.
Sticher wants to hear the podcast.
Upload the podcast to Soundcloud.
The method is also simple because all you have to do is upload the RSS feed provided by your podcast hosting to these podcast submission pages.

This submission to the aforementioned platforms (iTunes, Google Podcasts, and Sticher) is only expected once. In the future, what you’ll have to do is upload your podcast to your podcast host, and new episodes will be immediately added to these podcasting pages.

Promoting your podcast:

What’s the worst part of planning a party?

There was no invitation given.

The same can be said for any podcast. Once you’ve released your podcast, it’s time to let the world know that it’s online.

If you already have a channel, such as YouTube, a blog, an email list, or social media, use it to promote your podcast.

You can also upload the Podcast to the various directories.

This is a list of social media platforms where you can promote your podcast:

  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • Pinterest
  • Instagram
  • YouTube

It’s also a smart idea to spend some money promoting your podcast to the right people.

It is common for your first few podcasts to gain few views, but when you continue to post, listeners can browse your older shows as well.

You can also bookmark Headliner, which allows you to create video copies of your podcast for use on Twitter, Instagram, and other social networking sites.

So, these are the concrete steps you should take to launch a podcast right now. To make your life a bit simpler, here are a couple more podcasting tips to bear in mind:

  • Set a clear date and time for publication.
  • Get at least one podcast that is evergreen (As a backup plan)
  • Mention the website link at the beginning and end of your Nota bene
  • Publish your podcast on YouTube with an animated gif overlay.
  • Invite the brightest minds in your field to be guests on your podcast show to connect with them.

Finally, how do you launch a podcast?

Now is the ideal time to launch a podcast. The measures outlined above are all that is needed to get your podcast up and running.

If you have any new ideas, please leave them in the comments section below.
