ISLAMABAD: The federal government has increased the rate of return on national savings schemes

In this regard, a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance has announced a new rate of return on National Savings Schemes. According to the notification, the profit of Pension Benefit Account and Welfare Savings Certificate has been increased from Rs 860 per month to Rs 940.

In addition, Rs. 3900 will be given every six months on Special Savings Certificate and Rs. 246,000 will be given on Defense Savings Certificate after ten years while the rate of return on Savings Account has not been changed. National savings schemes have increased by an average of 0.97%. The new rate of return on national savings schemes will take effect today, January 21
