The ‘Blue Road’ concept has been established by the Central Business District (CBD) Punjab in Lahore. According to a media article citing officials, this proposal will modernise the city’s infrastructure and improve quality of life.
It further claims that this is the first road project of its kind in Pakistan and Asia. Blue Roads are a more environmentally friendly alternative to asphalt roads. This technology reduces pollution and improves the environment by utilising heat detection and energy-saving capabilities.
CEO CBD Punjab Imran Amin expressed his thoughts on the development, saying,
We are thrilled to bring the Blue Road concept to Pakistan, which has already shown to be a success in various European and Middle Eastern nations such as the Netherlands, France, and Qatar. This project will not only provide environmental benefits such as heat monitoring, energy conservation, and reduced pollution, but it will also help us achieve our objective of developing a modern, sustainable, and inclusive society in Punjab.
These cutting-edge roadways have a covering that repels sunlight and lowers heat absorption. The reflective coating improves motorist visibility and road safety at night.
Amin went on to say that CBD Punjab is committed to providing projects that improve the quality of life for inhabitants, and the “Blue Road” concept is only one of many such initiatives.
