MDCAT 2023 Date
MDCAT is a competitive test used in Pakistan to choose future physicians. This test attracts around 200,000 students from all across Pakistan. Fresh applicants, as well as a considerable number of repeaters, take the exam in order to get admission to medical school by passing it.
In a recent meeting, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) finalised the dates for the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test MDCAT 2023.MDCAT 2023 will take place on August 27, 2023. This was determined at today’s PMDC meeting. The previous year’s syllabus will be followed, and MDCAT will be administered by provincial accepting institutions.
MDCAT 2023 Syllabus and Paper Pattern
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council met for the second time today in Islamabad. President PM&DC Dr. Rizwan Taj presided over the meeting. During the meeting, the Council discussed the National Registration Exam and the Medical Dental Admission Examination (MDCAT), as well as other topics.
The Council is devoting its attention to the most pressing issues. In relation to MDCAT, it was determined and proposed that the test be held on August 27, 2023. The Council resolved that the MDCAT syllabus will be the same as it was last year. The Council asked all provincial secretaries to begin studying for the aforementioned exam. The decision was taken with the wider interests of students in mind.
Nearly 204259 students took examinations last year. According to estimations, 210000 students will take the tests this year, making the system more transparent. Merit-based public sector Medical Universities from all four provinces and ICT will once again test the exams according to the provincial curriculum. The Council emphasised that, prior to tests, all stakeholders, namely the examination departments of public medical universities, will be consulted to maintain exam confidentiality.
MDCAT 2023 Difficulty Index
This year, the MDCAT paper difficult index will be taken into account for student convenience without sacrificing merit to guarantee that all provinces conduct tests without causing students any problems. It was determined that NUMS will be the admitting university for all armed forces-administered medical/dental colleges/institutions. The NUMS entrance test will be evaluated on par with the national MDCAT for admission to all armed services operated medical/dental institutions.
The Medical and Dental institutions Admission Test (MDCAT) is required for admission to all government and private medical and dental institutions in the country for MBBS and BDS programmes. Foreign nationals and abroad Pakistanis seeking for the Pakistan Technical Assistance Programme (PTAP) must also pass the MDCAT. Previously, the MDCAT was held on a nationwide level, but it is now held by provincial accepting universities such as UHS, DOW University of Health Sciences, and Khyber Medical University. MDCAT will be administered at the provincial level this year as well.
