Pakistan connects to France through a submarine cable

ISLAMABAD: Construction of infrastructure to provide connectivity of Pakistan and East Africa Connecting Europe (PEACE) submarine cable from Karachi to Marseille, France has been completed.

According to Express News, the Pace Cable is initially a 15,000 km undersea cable from Pakistan to France, with an additional stretch of 6,500 km from Pakistan to Singapore.

According to details, the Pakistan-Egypt segment of the cable connects Karachi and Zafrana (Egypt) with a total length of 5,800 km. The connectivity from Pakistan to France is ready for service after completion.

The main trunk of Peace Cable is in Singapore, Pakistan, Kenya, Egypt and France with branches connecting to Maldives, Malta, Cyprus and other countries. Redundant connectivity will increase.

Senior officials from the management of Peace Cable briefed Chairman PTA Major General (retd) Aamir Azim Bajwa about the connectivity during an online and virtual meeting at PTA headquarters.

The delegation included Peace Management COO Sun Zhaohua, Peace Management Director Zhang Donghai, Commercial Director Chris Zhang (online) and Peace Cable Country Manager Pakistan Shoaib Ashfaq Qureshi.

The delegation expressed keen interest in investment opportunities in Pakistan and discussed future plans for the development of innovative digital and technology solutions to accelerate the process of digitally connecting Pakistan. has been.
