Pakistan decides to import sugar and cotton from India

ISLAMABAD: The Economic Co-ordination Committee (ECC) has given permission to import sugar and cotton from India.

An important meeting of the ECC was held under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Hamad Azhar in which permission was granted to import 500,000 metric tonnes of sugar from India. The committee also allowed the private sector to import sugar from India.

According to sources in the Ministry of Finance, the import of cotton yarn from India, which can be imported till June 30, 2021, also approved technical supplementary grants for various ministries.
