The National Medical Authority (NMA) has been entrusted with the responsibility to conduct MDCAT under PMC Act 2020, which was scheduled for the Year 2022 from September 7th till September 30th as decided by the Medical & Dental Council in its meeting held on May 14th, 2022. Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination (M/o NHSR&C), Government of Pakistan has directed National Medical Authority (NMA) to postpone MDCAT 2022 vide Letter No.F.No.1-3/2020-PMC/NHSRC (General Misc) dated August 30 2022, in wake of “national emergency declared in 72 Districts of Pakistan due to floods.
The National Medical Authority (NMA) has carried out an assessment of the MDCAT designated Examination Centers in cities across Pakistan pursuant to abovementioned directions of M/ NHSR&C, requests for postponement of MDCAT received from Health Departments of Govt. of Baluchistan and Govt. of Sindh, and reports of NDMA, PDMA regarding damage caused to road links, communication and infrastructure in the affected areas of Sindh, Baluchistan, Southern Punjab and KPK by the widespread floods and displacement of local populous.
Furthermore, the National Medical Authority (NMA) has received queries from MDCAT 2022 registered candidates based in non-flood hit areas regarding their Examination schedule as per the announced Examination dates in the month of September 2022; which has been reported by the Pakistan Meteorological Department as hot and humid across the country In view of the above circumstances and as per directions of the M/o NHSR&C, MDCAT 2022 has been postponed as per the attached schedule (Annex-A).
