The government’s one-book initiative was unconstitutional

Federal government’s one-book initiative unconstitutional, implementation not approved: Textbook Publishers Association A meeting of the Textbook Publishers Association was held in Lahore today, in which textbook publishers from all over the country participated.

A joint statement was issued at the end of the meeting stating that the government’s one-book initiative was unconstitutional and we did not accept of its implementation. However, if the government wants to implement a uniform national curriculum, it should give publishers three years to save billions of rupees in stocks of publishers and booksellers. The participants unanimously said that if our demands were not met, we would protest in any way.
