Most students in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and other developing countries aspire to enroll in foreign institutions for higher studies, such as Master’s and PhD programs. However, a common problem is that they are often unaware of the best time to apply to universities and well-known scholarship programs. In this short blog, I will share why it is important to apply for foreign scholarships during the final year of your degree.
Importance of Applying for Foreign Scholarships in Your Final Year
When you are in the final year of your degree, it is a crucial time to apply to various programs either directly through university admission portals or through announced scholarships.
For example, if you are completing your degree in 2025, the ideal time to apply for your next degree was between September 2024 and January 2025. This allows you to start your next program in August/September 2025, right after finishing your current degree, without wasting a year.
Keep in mind: you are eligible to apply for a continuing degree even if your final degree hasn’t been issued yet. Most universities accept provisional transcripts at the time of application.
