For years, blogging was seen as one of the best online income streams in Pakistan. Many digital marketers, freelancers, and students started blogs with the hope of earning through Google AdSense. But looking at the current state of CPC (Cost Per Click) and earnings, one has to ask: is blogging in Pakistan already dead?
My AdSense Numbers Today
To give you some context, here’s what I earned today according to my AdSense dashboard:
- Page Views: 7.57K
- Impressions: 11.4K
- Clicks: 500
- Earnings: $2.21
If we break this down, my CPC is effectively $0.00, and my Page RPM is just $0.29. That means even with thousands of views and hundreds of clicks, the earnings are almost negligible.
For the last 7 days combined, AdSense shows just $0.10, and for this month so far: $2.63. Compare this with the golden years of blogging (2012–2016) when even a few hundred pageviews could earn a blogger $5–10 daily.

Why CPC is So Low in Pakistan
There are several reasons why Pakistani bloggers today are struggling with low CPC and revenue:
- Advertiser Targeting
- AdSense rates are based on advertisers bidding for traffic. Pakistan has very low advertiser competition compared to markets like the USA, UK, or Canada.
- Ads targeting Pakistan often have much lower value per click.
- Mobile Dominance
- According to my own dashboard, high-end mobile devices generated $1.32, while desktops brought in $0.89. Tablets almost don’t matter at all ($0.01).
- Since most Pakistani users browse on mobile, advertisers pay less per click compared to desktop traffic.
- Content Saturation & SEO Trends
- The Pakistani blogging scene has become saturated with sites recycling the same “how to earn online” or “scholarship” type content.
- With AI-generated content now flooding the web, AdSense earnings for average blogs are falling even further.
- Shift to YouTube & Social Media
- Advertisers are increasingly investing in YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram ads rather than traditional blog ads. This leaves less budget for display and CPC ads.
Is Blogging Still Worth It in 2025?
If you’re starting a blog today in Pakistan just for AdSense income, it’s almost impossible to earn a decent amount unless:
- You target international audiences (especially USA, Canada, UK, Gulf countries).
- You work on high CPC niches like finance, health, insurance, or tech.
- You diversify beyond AdSense with affiliate marketing, sponsored posts, or selling digital products.
Blogging is not completely dead—but traditional AdSense blogging in Pakistan is dying fast. The proof is right there in my earnings: 500 clicks, and barely $2.
Final Thoughts
Blogging in Pakistan has transformed. For hobbyists, it can still be fun. For professionals, it now requires strategy, niche selection, and global targeting. Relying on AdSense alone is like waiting for rain in the desert—you might get a few drops, but never enough to survive.
If you’re serious about online income in 2025, you’ll need to look beyond AdSense. The future belongs to multi-stream monetization, video content, and global niches.
So, is blogging dead in Pakistan?
For AdSense bloggers—yes. For smart digital entrepreneurs—absolutely not.
