What is better for health … exercise, good food or good sleep?

Auckland: Whether it’s physical exertion, a balanced diet or a good night’s sleep, all three are considered important for good health. But now New Zealand medical experts have discovered that a good night’s sleep is the most beneficial to our health.

The online study, which ran from 2018 to 2019 in the United States and New Zealand, involved 1,111 volunteers between the ages of 18 and 25.

During the research, participants were asked about their daily routines and health conditions through various questionnaires.
The study, conducted by Shay Ruby Wickham and colleagues at the University of Otago in New Zealand, was published online in the research journal Frontiers in Psychology.

It should be noted that physical exertion (including exercise), diet and sleep, in addition to our mental and physical health, also have a very deep and complex relationship.

Previous studies have examined the effects of these three aspects on health separately, but there was a need for research that combined diet, sleep, and physical exertion. This research is also a link in the same chain.

In simple terms, the results of this study conclude that a good night’s sleep is essential for good mental and physical health. The second number is physical exercise, which includes everything from walking to regular exercise; The third is a balanced diet that is a proper combination of all the important nutrients.

All of the study participants who had a good night’s sleep had significantly better mental and physical health than those who were eating the same balanced diet and exercising more or less the same amount of physical exertion. Were.

The study found that physical activity, diet and sleep were only clearly linked to mental and physical health, so a more comprehensive and long-term study was needed to examine the effects of these three aspects on general health.

The scientific definition of “Quality Sleep”

In medical science, “quality sleep” refers to an adult’s night’s sleep that allows them to fall asleep at least 30 minutes after they fall asleep. Get enough sleep during which the mind is calm and the eyes are not open. And even if you open your eyes only once, after which you will fall asleep again in just 20 minutes.
