The Undergraduate Studies Admission Test HEC USAT 2023 registration schedule has been issued by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). The application deadline for USAT is May 10, 2023. HEC USAT is scheduled to take place on May 28, 2023.
The Higher Education Commission, through the Education Testing Council (ETC), will administer the Undergraduate Studies Admission Test (USAT) for undergraduate admission at universities throughout Pakistan. The USAT is based on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) format and covers all known undergraduate fields of Engineering, Medicine, IT, Management, and Social Sciences. Students who pass the USAT are eligible for admission to all universities, just like those who pass the SAT.
Who is eligible to apply for the Undergraduate Studies Admission Test (USAT 2023)?
- Students with a Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or an equivalent/Grade 12 education
- Students who took the final examination and are awaiting results
- Students with a minimum of 12 years of schooling in any subject
- HEC USAT Marks Distribution/Test Breakup
PART 1
- Number of exam elements (75 multiple-choice questions)
- 100-minute time limit
- 35 points for verbal reasoning
- 40 points for quantitative reasoning
PART TWO
- 40 minute time limit
- Essay writing abilities of 400-500 words (in either English or Urdu): 25
- Any score more than or equal to 50 is considered a qualified USAT score. The highest possible score on USAT is a perfect score of 100.
The test is first proposed to be held quarterly throughout Pakistan’s major cities at the same time. More tests can, however, be scheduled if necessary. The yearly test calendar will be posted on the ETC website, and applicants can register online through the registration portal.
Universities will continue to disclose their admissions policies on their own. Students will apply to institutions and submit their USAT ETC score card for consideration in the weighted merit determining formula.

- Application Submission consists of two steps: profile completion via the “My Profile” section and application submission via the “Undergraduate Studies Admission Test” links on the online portal’s menu panel on the left-hand sidebar.
- Only SUBMITTED applications will be evaluated for the USAT Test, and those in SAVE or INCOMPLETE mode will be ignored.
- Undergraduate Studies Admission Test (USAT) fees are PKR 1,750/- per candidate. The fee will be deposited in Habib Bank Limited Account No. 1742 7900 1334 01. Higher Education Commission is the name of the account.
- To submit an application, applicants must upload a paid and scanned challan form duly stamped by any HBL branch while filling out the application form on the ETC online registration portal.
- The test fee is neither refundable nor transferable.
