Why Google AdSense has low CPC & Earning in India and Pakistan?

If you are a blogger or webmaster, then when you talk about monetization, the first word that comes to your mind is Google AdSense. Although there are different ways to monetize your website, AdSense is the first step for most people.

Google AdSense started in 2003 and grew immensely over the years. Now things are not the same as they used to be 2-3 years ago when the major source of income of any blog was advertisements for their services.

For the past few months, many bloggers (especially tech bloggers) have seen a sharp decline in AdSense earning in India and Pakistan, and especially Cost Per Click (CPC). I have seen many people who ask how they can improve their AdSense CPC, but in reality, I am confusing myself and unable to give them a satisfactory answer. So a month ago I decided to investigate this troublesome situation and thought to find out the exact problem why Indian Bloggers are facing this problem with Google AdSense.

Why low CPC for ads from India and Pakistan Adsense Publishers?

First, I opened Googler keywords planner tools and searched the exact phrase “Blogging Tips” for the USA, which showed me an average CPC of Rs 108.

When I searched it for India and Pakistan by the country filter, I found that the CPC is Rs 0.57. This was a shocking difference, which meant that Indian and Pakistani publishers with ads for the same keyword got a click for Rs. 107 less. If you multiply it with 100, you will find that you will get Rs 10700 less for just a single keyword. Similarly, I have seen more margins on other keywords. Then I asked myself this question, “Why is there such a difference?”

Finally, I got the answer to this question, which I had. According to a study, Indians and Pakistanis spend 43% less money online than people in the USA. Here I am not only talking about average consumers, bloggers, webmasters, but also all those online marketing budgets which are involved in small and big business.

Multi-National Companies spend 30% -40% less money in online and inbound marketing , if compared to their branches in other countries. Thus, due to lack of interest of advertiser and non-awareness of the power of social media marketing, CPC is low in our country.

Here I am using Google Keyword planner tool, performing Keyword Research, and for the same keyword, I am targeting two different countries, ie US and India and Pakistan, and you Approx. Can see the difference in CPC.

Free inventory and low affordability = Low AdSense CPC:

Now I asked myself another question.

Why do companies spend less here?

We are the third-largest consumer of the Internet in the world, however, countries like Russia, the UK, Australia, are paying good CPC with new advertisers every day. After some research, it is the mentality of Indians and Pakistanis that they want everything free online.

We mostly opt for content, sweepstakes, free hosting services etc. That is why there is not much scope to convert visitors into leads or eventually customers. This is the primary reason why our CPC is low. Comapnies will not mind investing in AdSense advertising when they find out that it has Good ROI (Return of Investment).

The solution to this demanding problem is nothing but awareness. We, as bloggers, should promote the power of social media, Internet marketing and should tell people that these methods can convert more visitors than traditional media such as TV or Newspaper.

People need new, easy, and safer methods and assurances for online payment. Reserve bank of India and Pakistan will have to be flexible like services like PayPal so that more and more people choose their services. Till then we will struggle as bloggers to find a sweet and reliable spot for Indian and Pakistani AdSense Market.

Alternatively, if you want AdSense income, start targeting US-based organic traffic, and if you use high CPC words with decent US traffic, you can expect more money per click for your AdSense ads. The other thing that you can do is to choose a niche where you can expect more buying capacity. For example, in India and Pakistan, the purchasing power of the 18-24 age group people will be less while the purchasing power of the 25-40 age group people will be more.

You can use Coupon of SEMRUSH, and by getting a free account, you can get a list of high CPC keywords for your niche.

Now, target good keywords, work on writing good articles, and try to achieve as high a rank as possible. This will be time-consuming, but if you manage to achieve a high rank for any high CPC keyword at the end, such as with clever ad placement, you can make great money from AdSense. Anyways, there are many more tricks that we can apply to increase AdSense income, but that’s it for now.

According to you what is the reason for Indian and Pakistani AdSense publishers, CPC being low? And what can we do to convert our low CPC posts to high CPC posts?

Any question? Advice? Request? anything else ? Please comment.
